You have been designed by God. He loves you and He created you the way He wanted you to be. You are unique, there is no-one on earth like you, never has been, and never will be. Your DNA is unique to you, and chosen by God. Your Father God chose the colour of your eyes, and everything about you.
In Psalm 139:13-16, David writes, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them” (ESV).
God’s works are indeed wonderful; how often do we stop and take time to reflect. In my life unfortunately I admit I am often too distracted and do not fully appreciate enough. In springtime, people often appreciate the new life; the fresh new green leaves sprouting on the trees. The beauty of God’s creation. This psalm also highlights to me that I have been planned for by God, even from before I was born. This is encouraging to me when I think of how precious I am to God, and there is a purpose for my life.
This is true of all human beings, and what is so special about us is that in the beginning, God made us in His image. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27, NIV). After God created human beings, He said that “…it was very good…” (Genesis 1:31, ESV).
Human beings created so beautifully complex; each of us- “…spirit and soul and body…” (1 Thessalonians 5:23, ESV). So beautifully mysterious; praise God, we are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made. On our human body aspect, I want to note some of the beauty and complexity; how God has created our body is fascinating. As part of my Biomedical studies, we were taught about cell and molecular biology; the physical component of living organisms being made up of numerous different types of cells, within these cells numerous processes taking place. There is so much regarding this topic I could write on; in this post I will mention a few points, regarding our human cell structure.
In the book called Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology, it is explained that the cell structure is made up of two regions: the nuclear region and the cytoplasm1. It is amazing how our hereditary information required for cell growth and reproduction is stored in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules within the nuclear region1. God chooses the genetics we inherit from our biological mother and father in creating our DNA; in lovingly creating us. This designing is so amazing, complex and intricate; more than us human beings will ever to able to comprehend, nor should even try to comprehend; and will always be best for our Mighty Father God to create. Let us enjoy God’s creation, and live in awe. My science studies have contributed to me being in awe of the wonder of God’s creation, and there is so much that us human beings do not even know. God is all-knowing.
The wonder of God’s beautiful creation from the intricate details, to the great expanse. God created all life.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1, NIV). Genesis 1 explains how over six days God created day and night, the waters, the heavens and dry land (earth), vegetation, the sun, moon and stars, living creatures in the waters and on earth, and human beings. Human beings were created, in God’s image, on the sixth day, and God rested on the seventh day. I am sure you relate to me in loving nature, including the array of animal species created exactly as they are by God to be suited for the environments they live in.
We are loved and created by a Mighty God who is greater than time, and also cares about the details of each of us, part of His creation, even the smallest details. He adores each of us so much; we have so much value. So if ever you are in a situation where you feel devalued, remember how cherished you are. Your value is not based on what other people say or don’t say, do or don’t do. Your value is based on how God sees you, and what He says about you. God created you; God gave you life.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10, NLT). As God’s masterpiece, as God’s child when accepting Jesus as your Saviour, I encourage you to seek after God and ask Him to direct you in His plan for your precious life, and to enjoy the wonder of God’s creation including how beautifully you have been created. Too often fear tries to take hold, but let us reach out to God. The Lord says “…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1, ESV). We have been redeemed by Jesus; we belong to God. We have each been lovingly created by God, our lives planned for by Him. We live our lives getting to know God more and loving Him; in awe of Him.
Prayer
Dear Father God,
We worship You our Mighty Creator; the Creator of the heavens and earth.
Praise Your Mighty Name; there is none like You. We are in awe of You; Your majesty, beauty and power. You are magnificent and glorious.
Thank-You that we are precious in Your eyes, and honored, and you love us (Isaiah 43:4). Thank-You for Your mercy and grace, and for our Lord Jesus redeeming us.
Thank-You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank-You for helping me to see myself and others the way that You do. I trust for You to guide me in fulfilling the unique plan You have for me, and for me to become all You created me to be. Thank-You that I can live my life resting in Your love, and enjoying Your beautiful creation.
In Jesus name, Amen.
