We belong to God, and we are accepted by Him. We are each such a blessing to Him, and not in any way a burden. God our Father enjoys being with us, and wants us to get to know Him more and more. You are enough, and you have God’s approval. How God sees you is what matters. God created you exactly the way you are, every single detail. He planned everything about each of us, and we belong to Him from before we were born. Our God says that “before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” (Jeremiah 1:5, NIV). He decided when each of us would be born. He decided which family we would be born into, and be a blessing to. Each person is a miracle.
As the Lord said in Isaiah 43:1 (ESV), “…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine”.
When I have felt insecure, it has been when I have not believed in my heart that the real me is enough. In those times, God reminds me that I am His, and the real me is more than enough. I belong, and I am taken care of. If we feel lonely and do not know what to do, we can pray and God reminds us how special we are to Him. I have received Jesus as my Saviour, and so I am a child of God. I already belong to Someone, and do not need to look for love elsewhere, even in places that are not good for me. God is so wonderful to spend time with.
If you have ever been rejected, remember that God completely accepts you and that there is nothing wrong with who you are. There have been times when I sought approval from people, being too concerned about what they thought about me, and was left feeling rejected. We only need approval from God, which we have already. The truth is that our value is not based on whether someone else has chosen us. God has created and chosen each of us. God “chose us in Him before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4, ESV). You are beautiful. You belong to Him; you must just be yourself.
Prayer
Dear Father God,
Thank-You that I belong to You and that you reach out to me in love. Thank-You for making a way for me to be completely healed and whole. Please forgive me for trying to get significance and approval in the wrong places. Thank-You for your grace and patience, and for the gentle way that You love me. I want to know You more, and become more like You. All praise and glory to You Lord.
